Wendy started at TJ in 2017 as a Resident Assistant. A St. Louis native and a retired athlete, Wendy received their BS in Rehabilitation Sciences from Maryville University. They were inducted into Maryville’s Hall of Fame in 2022 and still hold a few of the records in the record book! After undergrad, Wendy pursued their M.Ed in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and have worked in the nonprofit field for over 10 years. Prior to stepping into the school counselor role in 2023, Wendy worked as a therapist at a local nonprofit that focuses on suicide prevention. There, they provided therapy to adolescents that were experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts. Suicide awareness and prevention continues to be one of Wendy’s passions. When not working, you can find them playing Magic the Gathering, baking, sewing, and playing board games with the students.
